The Avengers - The American In Me CD "'The American In Me' was a torn flag flown by the Avengers... the best punk band in San Francisco, in moments the best in the country. [Their songs were] like a rock through the window that separates the true from the false." -from liner notes by Greil Marcus Recorded in 1978-79, this sonic manifesto contains 8 live tracks and 4 previously unreleased studio tracks -- including 2 alternate takes from the infamous sessions produced by Sex Pistol, Steve Jones. The CD came with a 16 page booklet of photos, show lists, flyers and liner notes written by Greil Marcus, as well as Penelope's liner notes about the Waldorf show. The Avengers - Zero Hour LP Eight live tracks (numbered 5-12 below) recorded at the Old Waldorf in 1979 were released in 2003 on the Italian label Get Back. Aside from two tracks from the Pink Album these are the only released recordings with later guitarist Brad Kent. Early pressings were on white vinyl with card inner sleeve featuring photos by Ruby Ray. Track Listing:
